CaddiePlayer Update > "GSide" become "50Side" + rule 28

Dubai, UAE

I can't remember last time I played an official PGA event but last Wednesday March 15th, I headed to Abu Dhabi Golf Club to be part of the UAE PGA Pro-Am series where I engaged myself with a Team of Senior Friends and commit to fill the latest CaddiePlayer data card (7,1 version). To my concern the tournament committee ask us Seniors, yes I am 53, to play from the black tee setting the course at 7600Yds. So here I thoughts "woooh" how we will manage to compete against the young guns, knowing that our club head speed average was more comparable to the LPGA (94MPH) then to the PGA (112MPH)* and more importantly how my SwingScore and other data will be influence by such an adversity.

Never Less, committed I was and once the tournaments over, the data entered and submitted > I red: SwingScore 91, GSide 9, Recovery Avg 16,9. Those were not the data I was hoping for but here I need to face the reality and try to learn from them. So, what did I learn from this day and what I could do to improve the simple/sophisticated data results from CaddiePlayer?

1-GSide need to be better named and understand. Therefor I have changed it to 50Side > Meaning that we should select this column "always" when the ball is within 50yds off the green. If further Players can write the precise distance in the Bogeys+ hole comment. For example in a Par5 when the player is within 50yds with his second shot we should also select this column and enter the Options accordingly. Meaning we will have two data information within 50yds.

2-LayUp is understood to be a situation where we play to avoid trouble and this option was selected from the PClub Column. From now on the LayUp has been moved to the "Strategic" box and replace by the Wood club option (Meaning any Hybrids, or Woods).

3-Play to your potential > every golfer should have the opportunity to hit par threes in one shot, par fours in two, and par fives in three. There for you or Committee should choose the right color tee box according per the 28 rule by Chris Mile (Below Link) if not do not expect your SwingScore to be under 80...

I believe that by doing those update CaddiePlayer data will be more complete.

I believe CaddiePlayer to be the easiest simplest most reveling data soft wear on the market.

CaddiePlayer is the only data collector that calculate the "Swingscore" and apply its putting model to "science".

At last, yesterday I was invited to attend the #HappyUAE event and listen to Dr Robert Waldinger one of the Scientist behind the Happiness Harvard Study that I invite you to read.

Until next time Stéphane
